Import problems Outlook 2000/Outllok Express

I am trying to import an address book that is in .CSV into Outlook 2000. If I use the Import/Export wizard from the main Outlook File menu, when I choose the destination as the contacts folder Outlook just shuts down. If I try to import from the Outlook address book the import and export options are greyed out. The same thing is true if I try to do the import through Outlook Express (Outlook 2000 and OE seem to be sharing the same address book). I am running XP Home. I have seen similar questions in the forums but none of the answers works for me!

Any ideas appreciated!
