Hi There,

Apologies for not posting in the correct forum, but this seemed most suitable.

Is it possible to install IIS onto a machine with XP Home?

thanks,

Neli

Windows XP Home Edition does not include or support any versions of Microsoft Personal Web Servers. Users that need Web server functionality in a desktop operating system should use Windows XP Professional.

Microsoft FrontPage 2002 can use disk-based Web pages in Windows XP Home Edition as an alternative.

Sorry, after reading my post, I realised it wasn't very helpful!!

You can install IIS if you have copy of a Windows 2000 CD, but it's a bit long winded.

You can, of course, use a third party PWS instead. Just do a search for an alternative to IIS.

The reason for this being, is that i can not install XP Pro on my new laptop - due to the configuration of the RAID Drives........very weird! (i have a post about it here: )

The systems we use at work require IIS - so i was just wondering if i have to go with XP Home - will i be able to have IIS on it? - we have win2k discs,

many thanks for your help,

Neil
