I sold a client a RAD for his "old" ICS, and he's not sure how to get the remote utilities. I told him they can be downloaded from Nortel's site, but he says you need a code/password.

I forgot what rel he's at, but it's pretty far back. How can he utilize this RAD?

Thanks in advance!

He can't unless he has NRU

I'm sorry, this is an 8x16. I know he needs the remote utilities. My question is, is this available to purchase for such an old KSU? I've checked with a few of my vendors with no luck so far. Thanks for the help!

Your most likely going to need Norstar Manager, and yes it's still around

My client told me they have 30 MUL07 DR5.

The client said he wasn’t able to backup his programming, and now he's wondering if he's using the right norstar manager. He downloaded norstar manager3.5 from Nortel's site and it won't work.

Help me please!!

What OS?
What was the error?

Things to try:

-3.7 - Will see if I have at office, hard to find on web for free, need partner access from Avaya site to download.
-An older PC
-An older RAD
-A newer RAD

There's no such thing as an 8/16 Norstar. It sounds like you're trying to make a RAD work on an 8X24 DS with DR5 software or a 6/16 with DR5 software and that will never work as they are not compatible.

Nortel Norstar RAD - Remote Access Device (NT8B80)

Compatibility:

* 3x8 DR5.1
* 6x16 DR2 or higher
* 8x24 DR2,3,5,5.1
* MICS - Modular ICS
* CICS - Compact ICS
* BCM - Business Communication Manager

Well maybe I'm fixin' to learn something new here but I've always been told that they won't work on those older systems and I've never been able to get one to work on them either. Is it just the newer Fastrads that won't work on the older systems?
