I was having excessive IRQ sharing issues, so I reconfigured my system and disabled ACPI and set it to Standard PC under Device Manager.
Everything seemed just dandy as I reinstalled drivers and went through a couple of restarts, but now my system won't shut down. It will 'restart' just fine, but when I select 'shut down' I end up getting the "You may now safely...[bang your head against the wall]" instead of just powering down as it used to do. On top of that, the power button only works if I hold it down for a soft-off. What the hell did I do?
Second part of this question: I'm now showing 2 "Standard PC" listings in my Device Manager. Little confused by that...
