Hunt Group voicemail asks for password 2

I've just set up Hunt Group voicemail, as I have done many times before, on R9.1.12.

There's no problem collecting voicemails from Main in visual voice but I also created the shortcode *99/"?Main/LG0/voicemail collect to allow access from phones without visual voice.

This always asks for a password, which I have set, but I'm not sure why this is because all users have the sourcenumber set to HMain.

Have I missed anything?

Soucre Code HMain is correct for lighting the Message lamp

To access the VM without a pass code you need to be a member of the group
(also intuity mode forces password when using a short code)

Thanks both. Should have mentioned that I was using IP office mode and each user is set as a member of the HG using HMain.

I'm sure that I've not used V as source number before but it may just be my memory.

VMain didn't work but V400 although I thought these were interchangeable.

check the help files for the Source numbers field
V sets numbers that are treated as secure for the users mailbox

The default is V<extn> number so that users can access their mailbox without a password
if you add extra entry they specify who can also access the users mailbox without a password.
a common usage is to add the users mobile number so that they can call in & retrieve their VM messages without the need to enter a password (& if there is an ICR to Voicemail it will take them to the correct mailbox without prompting for the mailbox number either :) )
It has absolutely no affect on the user access in other mailboxes.

Avaya seem to have mucked up VM access on some recent releases

Thanks IPGuru. I've read the docs for both embedded and pro and neither mention the V.

Perhaps this is another feature on the latest release as I'm sure I've never had to do this before.

This has been around longer than I have (I only started with Alchemy V2.1 & it was old hat then)
it is in the manager help files

When in source numbers press the F1 key!
Source Numbers
Navigation: User | Source Numbers

This page is used to enter values that have special usages. These are entered using the Add, Edit and Remove buttons.

These settings are mergeable. Changes to these settings do not require a reboot of the system.

User Source Numbers
The following types of records can be added to a user's source numbers:

Value Description
AT<string> Strings beginning with AT can be used with a user called DTEDefault to configure the default settings of the control unit's DTE port.
BST_MESSAGE_FOR_YOU If set, then the BST phone user sees the top line Message for you or Messages for you, indicating that voicemail messages are present.
BST_NO_MESSAGE_FOR_YOU If set, the user does not see a message indication when the NoUser setting BST_MESSAGE_FOR_YOU is set. The user's phone presents the idle date/time in the normal fashion.
Enable_OTT Enable one touch transfer operation for the user.
H<Group_Name> Allows the user to receive message waiting indication of new group messages. Enter H followed by the group name, for example HMain. The group is added to the user’s Visual Voice menu.
On suitable display extensions, the hunt group name and number of new messages is displayed. Refer to the appropriate telephone user guide.

If the user is not a member of the group, a voicemail code must be set for the group's mailbox. See the setting Group | Voicemail | Voicemail Code .

P<Telephone Number> This record sets the destination for callback (outbound alert) calls from voicemail. Enter Pfollowed by the telephone number including any necessary external dialing prefix, for example P917325559876. This facility is only available when using Voicemail Pro through which a default Callback or a user specific Callback start point has been configured. Refer to the Voicemail Pro documentation. This feature is separate from voicemail ringback and Voicemail Pro outcalling.
R<Caller's ICLID> To allow Dial In/RAS call access only from a specified number prefix the number with a "R", for example R7325551234.
U<User_Name or Extension#> Allows the user to receive message waiting indication of new messages. Enter U followed by the user name or extension number, for example U201. The specified user is added to the user’s Visual Voice menu.
On suitable display extensions, the user name and number of new messages is displayed. Refer to the appropriate telephone user guide.

If the user is not a trusted source and a Voicemail Code exists, the user must enter the Voicemail Code corresponding to the monitored mailbox.

V<Caller's ICLID> Strings prefixed with a V indicate numbers from which access to the users mailbox is allowed without requiring entry of the mailbox's voicemail code. This is referred to as "trusted source".
For Voicemail Pro running in Intuity mode, trusted source is used for calls from programmable buttons set to Voicemail Collect and Visual Voice. Other controls are prompted for the mailbox number and then password.

Manager Help files should be your 1st port of call for almost all IP Office questions (they are for me) as they are actually helpful (even though they have been cut back in recent versions :-( )

Alsoremember to give a * to helpful posts - not only does it make the poster feel good & therefore likely to help again in future, it also helps others with similar problems know what worked

Sorry! I did give stars to the previous posts but the popup must not have worked on my iPad.

Yes I always use the help file but my last setup using Voicemail Pro only needed HMain to give both the MWI and allow password free access! Can anyone else try this?

Also sometimes for example H<HG Name> works for a huntgroup but other times H<HG number> does this trick. Anyway I just try both now.
