Hi everyone,

How can I include extensions in remote office in main office hunt group. The T1 circuit is at main office.

When people dial public number at main office, I want some people in main office and some people in remote office can hear that.

Main Office : 24xx
Remote : 21xx
Hunt Group: 2499 (2401,2402,2101,2102)

I tried to add remote extension in hunt group, but it only displays local extensions.

Can someone teach me how to accomplish this ?

Thank you
Andy

You need Small Community Networking up and running (SCN) this is licenced and the licence(s) are needed on all/both sites :)

is it expensive ?
I only a few extensions.

thank you for your prompt response.

What version are your systems running. can you dial between them already?

one is ip 403 and one is 406

Yes, we can dial between them already.

unfortunately you will need to be in the 4.x or 5.x range to make this work in a supported way. the 403 can not go past 3.2. there may be ways to do this with users forwarded or something. I am not sure of that. with R5 you get advanced networking for free and can share groups between sites.

Can I buy a 406 and transfer 403 configuration to 406 ?

Thank you
Andy

yes you can do that. you will need a 406V2 PCS 8 or higher to be able to go above 3.2

Check that the already existing 406 is a 406V2 as well!
a 406V1 (no extension ports on front) will only go as far as
3.2.

roger that.

I will take a look. It is not easy to get budget from the company now. So my solution now is to setup extensions which were forwarded to remote extensions.

It is the cheapest one now.

Thank you all.

You mean hunt type ?

like linear, rotary, most idle and group ?

Anything but Collective works Tom :)

Any that target one user at a time work as then the call can be forwarded, if you target multiple users at once it simply can't forward as the call can't target multiple locations. Basically it isn't a feature inherant to the other ring types it's just that collective is impossible to forward :)

Sequential or rotary works, collective or longest waiting does not work.
All in the docs (Tom) :)

I'm sure I have used longest waiting, but hey what do I know....not enough apparently, just like Tom :)
