I have a HP DL 360 server with an internal smart array 5i controller. I've installed redhat enterprise linux ES 2.1 on that controller/discs (kernel 2.4.9.e12)
After installing the OS I bought a disccabinett smart array 30 with a smart array 642 raid controller.
I installed everything and configured my raid 5 during POST.
the internal controller uses moduls cciss and I believe mkdev.cciss has been run at some point since I have a lot of controllers under /dev/cciss.
When I try to partition my drives using fdisk /dev/cciss/c1d0 (second controller, whole disk???)
I get this message.
can't open /dev/cciss/c1d0
I can run fdisk /dev/cciss/c0d0 to configure my internal raid-controller without any problems.
What do I have to do to configure my other controller?
Is there a command to run redhat setup fromo within the OS?
