Many 3rd party toners can be defective/faulty and it has become a dillema. Buy the cheapest printer you can find, and use the cheapest ink/toner. Substitute quality for economy is the trade off. Most likely the chip has expired, or was not re-set correctly. The sensor that reads the toner could be faulty also.

The cartridge I refilled was an origional HP. I took it out of the printer, refilled it, and replaced it in the printer where it came from! And it wouldn't work,it wasn't accepted , and HP won't tell me why.They kept telling me how to install a new HP ink cartridge! Must be a trade secret.They want me to buy a new HP cartridge every time! ButI won't!
