Are you sure it is the fuser? I have repaired a lot of these machine and only replaced a few fusers. Be sure that you have a good cartridge, maybe one from another machine that you know works. Refurb cartridges sometimes are bad.
toughest part about fixing these guys is getting the triangular feet off the bottom. They span the two clamshell halves of the printer body. Once you pop those out, the rest is just studying and removing screws
HP makes a special tool to get the feet off. I've got one and it works like a charm.
