This question came up as a result of a safety meeting in the hospital I work at, the question was whether or not in the event of a tornado in our area it was possible to transfer all incoming calls from the switchboard (Attendant console) to the phone in my office in the basement? Which happens to be a bomb shelter from the 50's. At night the switchboard operator uses a night button to send all calls to our admitting offices. Now (take in mind I have had LITTLE training in how to use this system) the only differences I see in the way the ext in the "night" office is set up is that the cover path 1 is set to t2 I have tried to change the cover path on my phone to t2 and set the Night phones cover path to something different thinking that it might make my phone the "night" phone but this had no effect. I am using a Definity G3siV9 system, and the brass here at the facility doesn’t want to have to spend any money to do this (big surprise). So if you have any info on how this might be done please let me know

You need to assign your extension to T2 which is time of day coverage. So put in this command change time of day 2

If you mean for me to set the Cover path of my phone to t2 I have done this and have even gone as far as changing the cover path of the "night" phone just to make sure there wasn’t any sort of conflict. If you are referring to something else please explain it more I have very little working knowledge about this system

I do mine this way. I change the coverage path that is attached to the night service exension. So, instead of point 1 being our audix hunt group for the auto attendant, I put point one as being the extension I want to route calls to and point 2 as the audix hunt.

Easy change to make...the only criteria for this to work is that the night service button must be pushed.

You might want ot look at a second night key ont he console for the purpose. This came up in another thread. I have worked out 3 different ways to accomplish this.
