How to create rules for a shared mailbox ??

Hello.

We have a mailbox shared amongst 6 support rep.
This mailbox is monitored on a daily basis.

I'd like to create rules to automate tasks such as forwarding mails to individual and move the mail to a folder to ease life.

My question is how to create rules for that shared mailbox ? I tried to create rules to move the mail to a folder but it only applies to my case. Is it possible to set it as a server rule ? I'd like to avoid VBA scripting is possible.

gqma0, did you ever figure this out. I am newb to exchange and have the same issue.

the link posted wasnt much help as far as creating server-side rules on a shared mailbox.

if you found a resolution, i surely would like to hear what you did.

What rule would you like to apply?
The oiginal post is kind of confusing.
As it is described above, it create more hassle then a solution.

Why don't you use public folder? It's easier, just forward the email to 6 tech, when someone working on an issue he/she can edit the email in public folder and when it's done move it to another public folder.
 
Here is the rule I was asked for...

Forward any email sent to "corp@domain.com" from "X" email address or with "X" in the subject or body to a "X" folder.

They like to send email from this corp account, so I created the mailbox and gave them send on behalf of permissions. Personal folders, wouldnt allow me to do that, however we are using personal folders for calendaring, etc.

I have no idea what you want to achieve with this.
What happens is X is not known?

Besides that, imagine the kind of filtering you would need to apply, in case you have dozens or hundreds of possible X's

I want to take a basic outlook rule and apply it to a shared mailbox. I currently have a similar rule setup on a end-users mailbox and it returns, if I was to guess, 2-3% false positives. The rule take any email from "service@domain2.com" and moves it to a folder in the same inbox called "service". I also have another rule that looks at any message recieved with "DDN Service" in the subject line or body and sends it to a folder in the same inbox called "service".

I will ask again, this time being more specific...

I would like to setup a rule on a shared mailbox to send certain items to a folder inside that shared mailbox, whether its from someone specific or it has a specified word in the subject or body.

Is it possible to do this server-side? Is so, could someone offer me assistance?

If you have a similar setup alrady, then you know the steps. The only difference is the fact you have to make it a server side rule.

I just wonder what you are going to do with a msg with let's say 'helpdesk service' in the subject, and you have 2 folders, helpdesk and service. It will get handled by the first rule of course, but still...
I don't even want to think about words in a body in HTML.

Honestly, I alway wonder why people make things so complicated.
