Hi all,

i've tried to sniffer trace all the traffic from/to a 9640 phone (with wireshark) at its own PC port.
I can't see any traffic between phone and IPO therefor it seems to be a real switch built in.
So is there any possibility ..any setting i have to activate (temporarily) ...(like there is at Nortel 11xx phones for example) to get all packets through to the PC port?

Thanks,
Flx

put a mirrored port switch / hub in between and connect a laptop with wireshark on it.

i know i know... it's not that i don't know other ways to get it.

But the PC port mirroring is an very easy way i prefer most of the times when coming to Nortel phones. Just activate the described setting... connect laptop and there we go... afterwards just deactivate it again .. and that's all.
You don't not have to setup anything else.

That's the function i'm missing now with the Avaya phones. Is there any possibility to get it done like that with them as well?

but Monitor will show you all the packets sent and received on the IPO LAN / WAN ports - so you can pick out the relevant traffic that way.

That just isn't available.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
