Hello Guys,
I've just got my server box up and running, everything seems to be running smoothly, DC, DHCP, FTP, HTTP and other bits and pieces.
I currently have the domain set as 'company.local' as suggested by the installation wizzard, but i'm looking to take our .com domain inhouse and host it ourselves as it gives us better control over the ColdFuion server.
Now, i've assigned a secondary IP address to the NIC sat in the box, which is 192.168.1.101, and configured the site using IIS and also slapped on an FTP host for the site.
When browsing on the local network to the site displays perfectly, and I also have ftp://192... working as it should do.
I have a static IP attached to our broadband line, and port forwarding for ports 80 and 21 to the internal IP address, so if i now access our public IP address the site displays as it should do.
Now, the bit i'm unsure on is having our public domain companyname.com resolve to the internal server rather than our current external webserver.
What steps do i need to take? presumably setup 'headers' in IIS to recognise the company external domain? And perhaps contact our hosting provider and have them re-point the domains to our public IP address?
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Rob
