Help Sending Pattern Out Specific Route

Hi,

I am looking for some assistance with configuring my PBX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently at a remote site which has only a single route back to our main office. Standard voice calls work fine.

Elsewhere in the business we use a system where you dial a prefix of "8" and then a three number code e.g. 864 for London and then the extension number. So maybe to dial bob in accounts in London I would dial 8 864 4100 rather than having to dial the full international number.

This has never been configured here and id like to set it up. Do you now how to configure the PBX to recognise this patern and pass the call on. Once it hits onshore the system there should understand the pattern ok.

Your company dialling patterns intersite is I guess using AC2
Level '8' probably using SPN's or LOC Codes...The routing, digit manipulation and restrictions are then set up via RLI (RouteListIndex's) and DMI (DigitManipulationIndex)LD's 90/86 Network (NET)

If your not familiar and have never done this I wouldn't suggest you attempt it yourself, have you any sort of arrangment/contract with a Nortel maintainer to set Interdite diallng up for you ?

Yeah, I think you might be right about not tackling this on my own. I am trying to read up on how to do it justnow and it seems quite complicated. Im not really sure where to start. We do have a contract with BT for support I might give them a call for advice on how to set it up.

I guess I would need to pattern match "8" + 7 digits and send it out my default route.

OK Rocky, there is no harm in looking at what you have configured presently on your switch just the PRINTing commands...I would start at LD 90 and LD 86

LD 90
REQ PRT
TYPE NET
TRAN AC2 (I guess)
TYPE LOC or SPN (LocationCodes/SpecialPrefixNrs)
Return Through to print (Use copy to paste info)

LD 86
REQ PRT
FEAT RLB or DGT (RouteListBlock/DigitsManipulationTables)
Again return through to print (Copy and paste)

Atleast this will get you on the road to familiarise

Note there is also another level NET 'AC1' which I assume will be your CO Public Access
