One of my clients is trying to train personnel on a 2420 phone. They use the S12 Amp with headset. Phones have the headset button hard coded. I have a Y-adapter that I have plugged into the headset output jack of the S12. I get no dial tone when activated. I used a HIS cord and when I use that i get one way audio. Caller cannot hear me. Should I be using the HIC cord? Any suggestions??? Is there a compatible headset I can use that will plug directly into the headset jack of the 2420 without utilizing the S12. Everything I have tried so far is not working.

That is correct. It just came to me. About 2 years ago I installed an Avaya s8700 and we used the 9620-9630 Ip sets. In order to use headsets with these phones we mistakenly ordered the HIC cord which is the 2420 solution. Well teh client just traded them in for the HIS cord and now I have to re-order. I have been trying to get them to stop using the S12 amp since it is not needed with the series of Avaya phones we have here. All we need is this HIC cord and the compatible headset. HIC cord only goes for about 25 bucks. Headsets I have plenty in stock.
