Have a user with an Avaya 1616-I handset, Plantronics CS55 headset with lifter. Connecting to Avaya IP Office 500 v2.

In the past, when the user has picked up her headset and pressed the "on" button, the following has happened: 1) The headset lifter activated, grabbing line 1. 2) The "Headset" button on her phone illuminated, sending the call to her headset. Now, seemingly out of the blue, when she presses the headsets "on" button line 1 is activated but the headset button doesn't turn on; thus causing confusion until she either picks up the handset or presses the headset button. I've swapped out the headset with another and the issue remains leading me to believe its something with phone programming. I logged her out of her 1616 and grabbed a spare, logged her into that, and the situation stayed the same. Any thoughts?

Thanks

While I appreciate the response, we don't have the cable - and shouldn't have to buy anything to make the headset work as it was working last week

I only gave you the tip that you can do it without the lifter.
Why the lifter stopped working, i don't know.
It seems that it is broken.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I dont believe its the lifter as I've used two lifters and two headsets with the same result. The lifter lifts the handset off hook and picks up the call, but the headset button is never activated so the call is never sent to the headset.

if the lifter is lifting the handset then I doubt the headset light is going to light up, because it thinks the handset has the call. Something changed... How do you have everything connected? Plantronics has free support you can either call or chat with them online.

The cable from the headset needs to go into the handset port, I imagine that's what changed :)
