OK, here's my scenario:

I have a list of products that I want to graph. I only want to graph one product at a time. Each product has two categories, QA Audits % and Yields. QA Audits and Yields are collected daily. Ultimately I would like to graph the product with the date being the X-Axis. I want to be able to graph two trends on the same graph, QA Audit % and Yields. I'm trying to set up my data in Excel and am having a very hard time doing so. Can anyone give me some advice as to how to do this, if it's even possible in Excel?

OVERVIEW:
Independent Variables: Date
Dependent Variables: QA Audit %, Yields
X-Axis: Date
Y-Axis: Numbers 1-100

Hi,

YES!

1. One Product at a time --

Tools/Options/Chart - Plot VISIBLE cells only.

Create a ProductList

Insert an MS Forms DropDown box on your chart. Link the ProductList as the InputRange. Specify the CellLink (SelectedProductIndex). Lookup the Product from the ProductList =Index(ProductList,SelectedProductIndex,1). Use that Product value to FILTER the SOURCE DATA TABLE.

Each Selection from the DropDown will FILTER the source data list and plot only visible data.

BTW, macro record selectin in the filter. The you can substitute the cell reference containing the SelectedProduct value.

2. 2 series; 2 categories --

select the series you want as the secondary. Format SelectedDataSeries/Axis -- SECONDARY

Chart Option/Axis -- SECONDARY...

OK, it has been quite a while since I started this thread, and I haven't gotten around to solving my issue until now. When I go to Toos/Options/Chart - Plot VISIBLE cells only, I can't select ANYTHING because the entire top half of this tab is grayed out. I can only select the two check boxes in the bottom half of the tab. Also, when you say insert an MS DropDown box on my chart, how do I do that? When you say "chart" do you mean in the column where I made my Product List? I need to know how to arrange my data to make the desired chart appear. Right now all I have is a Product List in column A. Please help me out!

Many Many Thanks!
Chris

Select the chart and then do Toos/Options/Chart - Plot VISIBLE cells only.

There is a difference between the source data and the Chart.

Please post a few sample rows of data that you want to plot.

So, I'm really confused now... You said I need to select the chart... I don't have a chart to select. Do you need to CREATE a chart FIRST of only 1 line of data before you can make one with two? I'll be working to scrounge up the columns of data that I want graphed against each other. In the meantime, please clarify this.

Thanks,
Chris

Have you never used the Excel Chart Wizard, one of the buttons on your Toolbar?

Maybe the Chart Wizard can figure out what you want to do with your 3 columns of data. Give it a try and see what happens.
