Ok, here's the situation (oh, and I'm relatively new to all of this)... We currently have DID's in the 412-256-3000 to 3299 range. I won't go into details on why, but we are changing our DIDs to the 724-459-4000 to 4299 range. We are using a Definity G3 (v11) PBX with an Octel Aria 250 (latest rev) voicemail system. Because we will be able to receive calls on both the old and new DIDs for a month, I would like to do the following when someone (outside) dials one of the old numbers:
1. Go straight to a generic mailbox (or message) that indicates our site's numbers have changed and explain the difference (ex: old extension was 3182, new extension is 4182).
2. After message is played, automatically transfer to the new number (and then to the associated mailbox if no answer).
I know that we can do probably do this if we setup a second mailbox for each station, but I was hoping that I could handle it primarily in the Definity. I will have stations setup for both old and new numbers. Is there anyway to do this without too much effort on the Octel side?
Thanks!!!
