Morning all,

IP500 v2 8.1

Im getting a strange issue where sometimes the DDI is not displayed properly on an outbound call.

There is no pattern to this and it appears to be pretty random.

For example we have a Gamma SIP trunk with a DDI range of 0203 1234000-59 (fictional numbers)

If ext 4039 has the DDI 44203 1234039 in its SIP name and Contacts fields, the full DDI should be sent out by the IPO and received by the Gamma platform but sometimes either the IPO isnt sending all of the digits or the Gamma platform isnt picking all the info up.

When this happens the recipient of the call sees the very first DDI in the range displayed as the callers number (in this case 0203 12344000) which is a massive problem as the owner of that DDI keeps receiving calls from people who claim he has called them.

any ideas

Cheers
Dave

have you run system monitor to identify which is the case?

yeah, have a weeks worth of traces

cant see any issues on them. I have other SIP Trunks from another provider which run fine.

every call i have looked at shows the correct ddi outgoing and i cant even replicate the issue. The only way i know its happening is when someone calls me and tells me the person they have called didnt recognise the number and they have asked questions or the client with the first DDI in the range gets random calls.

Dave, cast your mind back to the Days of Tom and EDBS.......

They said something very similar used to happen but whenever we tested or they tested it worked fine. However after a while (long while) we noticed a pattern, When calling people on the Vodafone network their DDI's would show just fine, if however they left a voicemail the number it said called them was always the main DDI/bearer number not the number that was displayed and if they pressed the option to call it back it rang the same (obviously). If you remember EDBS was on a funny exchange and also needed to match the same amount of digits BT sent(6) or again the DDIs wouldn't send.

Perhaps it's the same/similar thing but with different SIP providers instead of exchanges....certainly possible? :)

cheers Bas i'll upgrade
