FWD vs Twinning

What are the differences? I have a customer that currently is using twinning vs forwarding.

He has his calls twinned so he can get the oringinal caller id, but when a 2nd call comes in it does not get twinned. At this point he still wants the call to go to his cell phone, so he has it set to Forward No Answer to his cell phone number so he can get the 2nd call.

Can i get forwarding to pass the caller id, this way i can use only one method instead of two? Does mobile twinning support 2 calls?

The bad part is he has a 406v1 running 3.2(6x). We are working on getting him upgraded, but unless upgrading fixes his problem with this right away then i think it will be a couple of months before upgrading.

I do not believe that mobile twinning supports two calls - also your correct that forwarding will not pass caller ID. The advantage I find with twinning is the ability to pull the twinned call back to your desktop phone through the Emulation - twinning (button option), twinning also maintains call control.

they could care less about that... their 2 main objectives are to pass caller id and make every call to their ext go to their cell phone.

You can try using a short code to forward. make a code like this then forward to it.

Now the x's are the cell phone number. forward his ext to 500 and then test call it.

If they want every call to there cell phone then ditch the hardphone and set the incoming call route to his cellphone

But then no caller id if the provider does not support it
You will never have two call on a twinned phone
You can set a second call but then it will ring the other phone
