What does everyone think? We have a Lease that is coming up for renewal, and we have the option to extend it for 24 months or 36 months or buy the equipment outright for 3600.. this includes the IP406v2 a 8port analog box and a ibm Voice Mail Computer. Trying to decide if we should buy it or switch to another phone system.

They just introduced the new ip500 so i guess it will stay for a couple of years at least :)

IP Office is certainly a keeper.
An evolving systems that does well keeping up witht the times. Upgrades are usually easy an inexpensive.

So youve got approx $5000 (rrp) of kit - at a guess

I would suggest it would come down to

are you happy with the kit ???
does it do what you want ???

The IPO is likely to be around for at least 24 months and probably alot longer - Unless someone knows different

Id would always go with - "if it aint broke then why fix it"

Thats my useless ramble over with :)

Yeah I'm thinking it works, I think It's worth $3600 to not have to deal with switching phone systems for another 2 years at least. the Buyout is cheaper in the long run then it would cost to extend the lease by 24 or 36 months, and then we would be to the point of renewing or buyout again.. the IPoffice has served us pretty well and is only 3 years old, but I'm just the 1 who Maintains the IT equipment and keeps it running, and not the 1 who cuts the checks..The Bookkeeper is tending to agree with me on buyout versus extending lease, but also is mentioning about Technology getting out dated.. although I think IPoffice is not quite like other technology products with upgrades and everything.. right now it seems to be the best Phone System in it's price range, without charging you at every corner with software.. only limited to ports and whether you want PM regular or PM pro...

ohh well ramble off here as well.. Happy with the IPoffice except for the volume of the Wav's recorded when a voice mail is sent to email.. any Idea of how to fix that? have Voice Recording set to high on all lines. we have all Analog incoming lines..

There was a thread recently that mentioned a Reg Key that turns up the volume of the VM. I think it was from Intigrant. Have a search around.

Ok thanks.. let me look and see if that helps any.. I thought I had seen something but wasn't sure it would help in our situation or not..

@VoiceOnData

24months?

should i look for a career change now whilst im still young and handsome enough to pull it off?

See if you can get them to do the upgrades if that is not done yet to the latest maint release. Never use a GA release, wait for the 1st maint release for a GA release, or 2nd if you can wait. Then buy it outright after they do the upgrade, and any chnages you need to the call flows, programming, etc. Might want to check out mobile twinning licenses as well. You will get a better deal to do the whole deal at once.

IPO is a hot forum on TT, and probably the hotest IP system as far as implemented SMBS systems. I do not see its' reign ending soon.
