Forward to voicemail

Is there a way to forward a call directly to voicemail instead of it ringing the phone before forwarding to voicemail. Is this a FAC or is this something that needs to be custom set up system by system?

Send All Calls button or key in the FAC on the phone.

I have a CM 3.2. with a octel 350. will the FAC work for that or not? being that it is a non Avaya voicemail.

The FAC is associated with the phone system. Having a Send All Calls button programmed onto your phone send the call to your programmed cover path, which typically is your voice mail. You're just cutting out the ringing at your phone and telling the PBX to send the call directly to your cover path.
I'm not sure if just keying in the FAC and hanging up without adding an extension will make your call go to it's programmed cover path. I've always used a button without adding an extension in the provided area.
Try it and see. It's not like it will do a reset system 4.
