Friends,

I have a very trivial question to be posted . I need to format the man pages .Like when I do something like this

man fgets > get.txt

If I view the output file f77.man using head, cat, more, less, page or pg, for example, it looks similar or identical to the output of the corresponding man command. But if I view the file with an editor - which in most cases shows the characters actually in the file - it is hardly resemble the screen image because of all the peculiar embedded formatting characters.

I am using Hp unix ..Can some one enlight me on this .

thnks with anticipation

Checkout "texinfo"
"Texinfo" is a documentation system that uses a single source file to produce both on-line information and printed output. Many programs use texinfo to create manpages and help files.
You can download it at:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/texinfo/
for free. :)
Jon Zimmer
b0rg@pcgeek.net

The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.
