formatting man pages

<br>&nbsp;Friends,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;I have a very trivial question to be posted . I need to format the man pages .Like when I do something like this <br><br>&nbsp;man fgets &gt; get.txt <br><br>If I view the output file f77.man using head, cat, more, less, page or pg, for example, it&nbsp;&nbsp;looks&nbsp;&nbsp;similar or identical to the output of the corresponding man command. But if I view the file with an editor - which in most cases shows the characters actually in the file - it is hardly resemble the screen image because of all the peculiar embedded formatting characters. <br><br>&nbsp;I am using Hp unix ..Can some one enlight me on this .<br><br>&nbsp;thnks with anticipation
