Flash Hook on IP Office 2

Hi All,
I have an issue with flash hook on IP Office if just don't work. I have a user with call waiting on one of their lines, I program a flash hook button on their phone. When you hear the beep and press the flash hook button on the phone it dont answer the beep. I also program a short code for the flash hook but that did not work. I tested it with an analog phone and it works every time so i know it can only be something with the IP Office.

Any help would be appreciated

I forgot to mention The user have a 1408 phone with the line that have call waiting on a key on a button. I need the call waiting to work on a 1408 phone.
 
as a 1408 is a digital phone why would you even use a flash hook action, that is for analog phones, as stated the 2nd call should hit the 2nd call appearance.
 
The joys of analog in the USA. People don't want to pay for a second line so they use call waiting, i.e. no line appearance. Thus they only have one line to the system which they must flash to. It might be the timers also you can try to look into that on the line tab.

The user only have 1 line on the system and it have call waiting. I took out a Norstar where it was working I just need to get it working back on the IP Office

then what is the point in having a PBX at all,
Just plug an analog phone in and have done with it

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
 
IPGURU make a good point here, why would someone pay that much for a phone system for only 1 line, might as well just install an analog phone with centrex voice mail
 
The customer did not purchase system for 1 line. Thus user is just a client on this system he has 1 extension of the system with 1 line.
 
just curious as this is a 1408 digital phone, how many call appearances does the phone have?
 
Go to the line settings for his line, Analog options tab and adjust the Flash Pulse width. Default is 500ms try 750, if you go to high it will disconnect the call. Programming a hookflash button on a phone to invoke CO/centrex features such as CW can work in the IPO.
 
just curious why would you do this for a digital phone set up?
 
I've used the hook flash button and it works fine. It was with an R7 so maybe something has broken since then.

I have never seen a IPO with analog trunks (we're spoiled with ISDN and SIP) but as call waiting would be a feature on the analog trunk I suspect it won't ring on a second CA on a digital phone.

I did not choose the digital that what was sell to them. These sales people.
 
so he is in a managed office & the owners of the manager office are subletting single analog lines?

WTF are THEY bothering...

I am glad I have not come across anything quite that stupid in the UK (although I have seen some that come close)

why not then just give him an analog phone so he can flash hook the 2nd call
