FileMaker Pro Export

I am trying to access data from FileMaker Pro files (files with qsl extensions/FileMaker Pro Runtime 3.0). I know I can export data from menu options in FileMaker Pro Runtime into the format I choose, but I would prefer code a VB program to allow access to such files using ODBC opening tables as recordsets to import to our own software which is MS Access based. I thought previously that Filemaker Pro data files had an (.fp3 or .fp5) extensions, so I am a bit confused as to how to access (.qsl files). Anyone out there who can help.
