First, I'm an Access user trying to work in a FileMaker database & I know I shouldn't have expectations - but I do!
Anyway - in Access, I can create a parameter (prompting) query so, whenever it's run, it stops and asks what I want. In FileMaker, I would like to accomplish the same thing. I've know how to create multiple Find criteria (Request, New Request) - but how can I make FileMaker stop and ask for the value in each of the requests? I'm trying to find records based on a date field's value.
Name of the Field=Start Date
Find criteria currently in that field: >5/31/2004
This is where I need the prompt, as the date will change every month. As it is, I run the script and I get the records that are older than 5/31/2004 - then I have to manually modify the current find and change the date myself (nine times, mind you, because there are 9 requests, each with different criteria but always the same Start Date).
Suggestions? Thanks so very much!
