Hi all,

I have a spreadsheet containing thousands of entries with an unique identifier for each item. Is there a way to check if there are rows that contains the same id?

For example,
Row1-> id= 12345 Description=xxx
Row1002-> id=12345 Description=yyy

Is there any function in Excel for checking duplicates entries ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

You can use the COUNTIF function. If COUNTIF returns > 1 then you have multiple entries.

You can then use AutoFilter on the column containing the COUNTIF formula and filter custom greater than 1 and see all the duplicate rows.
