I have an executive asssitant who has a 2616 phone with her bosses two lines appearing on her phone. When she takes a call for her boss on her phone and puts the call on hold for him to pick up, her boss can't pick up the line. The assistant has to transfer the line back to her boss as if the call is not on his line in the first place. The appearances are programmed as SCR and both phones are in the same RNPG. I have other phones programmed in the same way without having this problem.

Could this be a CLS setting?? Can anyone offer insight?

Use the park feature, the secretary parks the call, tells the boss he has a call on xxxx and he dials that number and is connected.

Post the TN, so we can provide a couple other work arounds.

I would do a TNB on a set you know this works, and compare to the set that isn't working. Definately a CLS thing.

park or transfer.. you can program and use the switch as if it was a key system but why would you want to? post the two phones if you have to use hold and holler...

your are right it is a cls thing.... had the same problem here. It's called exclusive hold. If she puts it on hold nobody else can pick it up. Change her cls XHA to XHD.

Thank you all for the responses. I checked the CLS indication on the assistant's phone and her 2616 phone was set to XHD. Should I change it to XHA? Also the executive who she is covering on her phone is set to XHD.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Don't make us guess anymore, please post the TNB's of both phones

Pls see below the TNB for the Assistants phone:

Sorry for the delay, I have posted the other phone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see any reason if either one put's a call on hold on 2779/3779 it should flash and either one should be able to pickup the call.

Now they are putting the call on hold right?

Yes. When the assistant picks up the appearance on her phone and places it on hold, the exec can not pick up the call. This is why I thought for sure it was something in the cls, some privacy command. So far I have reviewed these phones several times and compared to other exec and assistant phones that work normally in this way. There is nothing that looks different.
