Anyone ever of this happening before?
A user can open Excel from their Start/Programs/Office menu, do a file open, browse the network, find a file, and Excel along with the worksheet opens just fine.
However, if the user trys to open Excel by clicking on a desktop shortcut to the same Excel (.XLS) file, Excel opens with a blank grey screen.
I am inquiring on behalf of one of our support desks at another location, so I don't have much more detail. The user is running XP with Office XP/2002. The tech even went so far as to re-install the office suite on the client computer, but that did not fox the problem.
