I'm trying to print one sheet of a spreadsheet, but it won't let me, saying I could be out of memory etc.

I've tried printing the same sheet in another part of the newtwork which uses a different printer, but it still brings up the same message.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why I'm getting the error, and how to get rid of it!

Thanks!

Pen,

One possibility is that a cell has been accidentally populated, and this cell is somewhere "far down" in the worksheet. For example, all it would take is to accidentally hit the <spacebar> and then move off the cell.

If this is the case, and your print area is not specified, then Excel will attempt to print the ENTIRE range - up to that last cell populated with a space character or whatever text/number. If this entire range is indeed HUGE, then this would explain why you are encountering memory problems.

To resolve such a problem, you can do one of the following...

1) Hit the <End> key, followed by the <Home> key, which will take you to the last column column and row in use. Then check on that row/column for any text that is outside of the range you're wanting to print.

2) Go to the edge of the range you want to print, and delete the rows/columns that are OUTSIDE of the range you want to keep and print.

3) In the Page-Setup window, click on the "Sheet" tab, and then opposite "Print area", specify the exact range you wish to print.

I hope this helps. Please advise as to how you make out.

Hi Dale

I did what you suggested and found someone had coloured a cell yellow right down in row 7060!

Thanks for your help
