I wanted to set up an excel spreadsheet and export data from access into the excel spreadsheet.

My question is this.... If I set up all of the formatting and macro's that I need in the excel file, how do I keep the access output from overwriting the entire file?

I just want to import the new data without overwriting the entire excel file?

Thanks very much!!!

Fred

There is always the Export As - txt or csv then import as.
But that still begs the question of formatting. My solution either way is to have a sheet formatted how you want in a second file or spare sheet then "cut" and "paste special > formats" on the whole sheet.

theanks cresby.... I currently use one excel file that links to the source file.... that works but I was hoping there was an easier way -thanks again!
