I have created a PivotTable with 2 dimensions in the rows and 2 dimensions as colmns.

The problem I am having is that I need the columns to be sorted a certain way. By default the first column is the sort order. I need my 2nd column to be the sort order.

Here is what my excel sheet now looks like...

col1 = Jane Julius Steve Tim ....
col2 = ACCT3 ACCT2 ACCT1 .....

The setup is correct, (i.e. I need to show Names on top and ACCT(x) on the bottom). However, I need the sort to be by col2. I go into PivotTable wizard and make col1 to be Manual Sort and col2 to be sorted Ascending, but it does not help. Any thoughts.

col1 is "Manual" and col2 is "Ascending" as shown under "field settings\advanced". I do not know what "Manual" actually means.

Col2 sorts WITHIN col1.

If you want the Month to be the major sort, it must the the FIRST column field.

Skip,
