Hello all,
We have some Excel pivot tables that we use for logistic purposes. We constantly use the drop-down boxes in the pivot table to filter down records by field. The problem is that if we have a value in the field and then later stop using it, the value still shows up in the filter boxes. This makes using the pivot table cumbersome since we have to change our values often. Is there a way to refresh the filter boxes where it only shows values currently in the table?
So for example suppose our table initially looks like:
Product Size
Item1 Small
Item2 Medium
Item3 X-Small
Then later we may decide to stop offering X-Small sizes and we change our table to:
Product Size
Item1 Small
Item2 Medium
In our filter box for size on the pivot table it will still list X-Small as a choice. This commonly confuses users since X-Small is no longer a valid value for the spreadsheet.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Collen
