In a network enviroment, I have an user with Winows95,Office97, and everytime she tries to access an Excel spreadsheet that is shared on the network, she gets This program ha sperformed an illegal operation and will be shut down, under details it says, an invalid page fault in module MSO97.DLL at 0137:####:######. No one else is having this problem. I have gone as far as removing Office97 and deleting the registry keys, then restarting and reinstalling Office97. When I try to open the shared spreadsheet I continue to get the message. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I have spent 2 days trying to figure it out. Thanks

Have you tried replacing the copy of mso97.dll with one from a machine that doesn't have the problem?

Actually, here mso97.dll is accessed from a network drive. Perhaps the problem machine is getting a mso97.dll from a different location. One thing you could try: On the offending machine and again on a machine that doesn't exhibit the problem, open the About box and click System Info... Click on "Active Modules" and scroll down until you find MSO97. Compare the version numbers and dates. If not the same, you can see where each file is being loaded from and take appropriate steps.

When I checked the version I realized that I hadn't installed sr2, that in fact it hadn't been installed previously either. After installing sr2 it works. Thanks for making me connect the dots.
