I have an excel document that will open two copies of itself everytime you open it. The files will be identical in data and you can edit either one. The columns are different colors on each copy. There are no marcos because I tried disabling macros when I opened the files and still nothing.

check out your XLSTART directory - I bet the file's been saved in there by accident
delete the copy in that directory and you should be fine Rgds

The file isn't in the XLstart directory. THis happens on every computer I open the file on. The file is stored on a file server for everyone to access. The file is 2.25mb in size. There are at least 30 sheets in this thing.

if you go to window in the menu bar do you have two workbooks listed there? If so close one of them by clicking on the X (the one for the workbook not the program) then save the workbook, you should no longer have two of them opening.

Hope this helps...

THanks
