I need help in adding parenthesis in a column. I need to keep the text in column A but add the parenthesis around the current text. Any help is appreciated.

Enter the following formula into cell B1:

="("&A1&")"

Now copy down!

I hope this helps!

If you only need to see parenthesis but have text unchanged - format text as custom (any number will be converted to text) with:
(@)

combo

Thanks Bowers74. It works great.

Thanks for the star Acowaz!

combo's suggestion is good too.

You might want to try it to see which one works better for you!

Here is a star from me, because I didn't know about that Custom Format technique and I'm sure that I will need to use it in the future!
