I have a user who somehow lost her FORMAT menu in Excel. NOT the format toolbar, but the actual menu option (like File, Edit, Tools, etc). I cannot for the life of me figure out how she managed it but when I log into her PC, the menu is there! So I imagine it's only under her profile that this happens.

Technet was useless with this issue. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Kanaan,

Right click in the Excel Toolbar.

Select Customize...

Select Toolbars Tab

Scroll Down until you find Worksheet Menu Bar.

Is it CHECKED?

The Worksheet Menu Bar most likely needs to be Reset. There is a button for this on the Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog box.
The menu items are surprisingly easy to delete. Ive got some "mad clickers" around here who lose all sorts of things!

OK, I sent the user an email instructing her to check out the Worksheet Menu Bar and Reset it.

However, I did not see a way to get rid of just one of the menus with this feature. If you uncheck it, the whole menu bar disappears.

So how does one lose selected menus?

Thanks again to you both for your help!

Open customize, and while its open either drag the menu item off the toolbar or actually right-click the menu item and delete it.
