I'm fairly well versed with IP office and have been installing and maintaining IP Office systems for the company I work for for 11 years but all of my time has been with what they now call the Preferred Edition. Our owner has decided he needs a phone system in his home so we got an IP 500V2 in basic mode and installed it. I'm not thrilled so I'd like to add the Essentials Edition RFA but I have one key question that I can't seem to find an answer to. In Essentials Edition is it possible to have a hunt group mailbox like you can in Preferred Edition?

Yes
apart from the embedded Auto-attendant almost everything else is identical to preferred edition.

Most MVP's here (I would say all but there might be an oddball out there) would consider Basic mode an abomination & refuses to have anything to do with it

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I agree. After seeing Basic mode I started asking myself "what the &*^&* have I gotten myself into?"

Thanks for the reply, off to the RFA store I go...

I would rather walk barefoot across a concrete floor covered in drawing pins than use Basic mode :-)
