Active Sync Problem 0x85010004, HotFix Available!
When you try to synchronize a Windows Mobile 5.0 device, against your Exchange Server 2003 Sp2 Front-End/Back-End Server, you might end up with this error:
0x85010004
And you may also have this error message on your mobile device:
Your Account does not have permissions to sync with your current settings. Contact your Microsoft Exchange administrator.
Error code: HTTP_403
These errors usually pop up when you have chosen to secure your mobile environment, by enforcing passwords on connecting mobile devices.
This is done using Exchange System Manager, by enabling the Enforce password on device option. This option is in the Device Security Settings dialog box under Mobile Device Properties.
Turning this setting off is one way to get rid of this error message, but now, Microsoft has released a hotfix to correct this problem. So you can keep your Device Security Settings!
You need to contact Microsoft Product Support Services to get this hotfix, that will replace the Massync.dll.
