I was running Exch 2003 in a mix 2000 and 2003 Active Directory domain. Today i removed the last 2000 domain controller and raised the domain function and forest function to 2003.

How do i get exchange to see the changes so that i can use the DirectPush and RPC over HTTP?

Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for the links and infomation!

Also, i had not seen the msexchangeteam site before, looks like another good resource.

My Issue,

I think I’m 95% there your video on this topic was very helpful also some of the user comments

My problem is Naming

Domain on SBS 2003 XXXXXX.local

Public Email @XxXXXXsolutions.com

Certificate =

I’m using a trial Thwate certificate to see if I can get this solution to work

Error = 0x80072f06

0x80072f06

You have an incorrect SSL certificate common name in the Host Name field. For example, you may have entered when the common name on the certificate is actually Make sure the server name is entered correctly.

The Exchange Server name in the ActiveSync settings differs from the name that is required to establish an SSL connection. Correct the Exchange Server name, and try to synchronize again. If you synchronize on a schedule, synchronization has been changed from scheduled to manual.

How do i know what this should be

Thanks for all your help i i guess no one does this with there exchange server

Any way sorted the cert issue all of your ISP will create a record for your email server as

Mail.yourdomain.com etc

so in the CSR request process use this as your common name and you will have no certificate issues

the video on the link above left out the whole ssl process because of the complections of seting this up in a test or real enviroment.

last hurdle is

Error message when you try to synchronize a Windows Mobile 5.0-based device in Exchange Server 2003: "0x85010004"

AHHHH

documentation would be great

Active Sync Problem 0x85010004, HotFix Available!

When you try to synchronize a Windows Mobile 5.0 device, against your Exchange Server 2003 Sp2 Front-End/Back-End Server, you might end up with this error:

0x85010004

And you may also have this error message on your mobile device:
Your Account does not have permissions to sync with your current settings. Contact your Microsoft Exchange administrator.
Error code: HTTP_403

These errors usually pop up when you have chosen to secure your mobile environment, by enforcing passwords on connecting mobile devices.

This is done using Exchange System Manager, by enabling the Enforce password on device option. This option is in the Device Security Settings dialog box under Mobile Device Properties.

Turning this setting off is one way to get rid of this error message, but now, Microsoft has released a hotfix to correct this problem. So you can keep your Device Security Settings!

You need to contact Microsoft Product Support Services to get this hotfix, that will replace the Massync.dll.
