Group,
We are having problems getting this environment to work. We have an EMC Celerra direct fibre attached to a ATL M1500 and use Netbackup 5.1 ES for NDMP. Set_ndmp_attr works fine. Both tape drives can be seen from the Celerra and can be manipulated (fast forward, rewind). However, when we inititate a backup from the policy from the media manager or master server (NDMP client), the bptm log shows that the process is hanging at "mount_open_media: setting NDMP_TAPE_MOUNT". The GUI just shows the policy is mounting the tape with a given media id. The policy will just sit there forever if we dont kill it or sometimes will freeze the tape and mount a new one only to be caught in a never-ending loop. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Its like Netbackup sends a request to the library to mount a tape, the libary mounts it, but never tells netbackup it is mounted so Netbackup still thinks it is in the process of being mounted. Meanwhile, the Celerra knows its mounted b/c it can fast-forward, rewind, etc. the tape in the drive. Please help - thanks in advance
