I have never worked with the embedded messaging before and one of our sales reps just called with a question. The customer is stating that when someone calls in the auto attendant picks up after 2 rings then plays the greeting and you can dial the extension. When you dial the extension(2 Digit) it is then silent untill the VM picks back up or the person answers the phone. They do not have MOH. Is this just how it works and if i put MOH in will it play.

Thanks in advance

Yes, this is how it works. The call is placed on hold while the IPO tries to connect. MOH will give the caller music when the call is transfered. I've gotten the same complaint from our customers.

i think i read you can transfer an moh file to the imbed card, and then it will play. i have not tried it though.

Thanks for the help. I have no one onsite and no way into the system. I will tell the customer to set up a music source.

i thought with embedded messaging. you had to press a selector code and the dial the ext? could be wrong though

Thanks for all you help everyone. THey are putting in MOH next week.

the aa on imbed does require a selector code to access the ability to transfer to an ext. it may have changed, or could be some way to sc around this if the selector code digit matches the first digit of the ext number. pushing the call to a destination one digit short of the number of digits for the ext, which re-directs it to the ext.
