I am currently having an issue withe Exchange 5.5 and a user I need to edit a rule from. This mailbox is setup just to forward email that goes to it, to other users in the company. We have an employee who got layed off and I need to remove them from the list of that email address. However, I am unable to gain access to this mailbox.

When I try opening up the mailbox via Outlook XP, it shows "Unable to open folder, the inbox folder could not be displayed". I checked its settings on the Exchange server, and it doesn't have a login name nor does it have a DL attached to send the emails out to these employees.

So I assumed its a rule setup, however, I am unable to access that outlook account to change it. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Matt

Do you have permissions to open that mailbox? Have you added your NT logon to the Permissions tab of the mailbox you are trying to open? (If you can't see a Permissions tab for the mailbox in Exchange Admin, you need to tick the option in Tools Options to show permissions tabs for all objects.)

Rather than have a rule on a mailbox that does the forwarding to a bunch of other people in the company, wouldn't it be easier to use a DL to do this job?
