Hello everyone,

I have an IP Office 406 running VM Pro with a full auto attendant on their main line. One of the options on the main menu is to dial-by-name. When the caller selects this option, they are prompted with "Enter the last name and number sign".

Is there any way to change this prompt to say something like: "enter the first few letters of the person's last name"? I find that callers often don't know how to spell the person's entire last name and end up not using the feature and just press 0. If you only enter the first few letters of the last name followed by #, it still works fine, but the caller doesn't know that's an option.

Thanks,

You should be able to go back and re-record the wav file that is associated with it. Are you running in Intuity mode or IP Office mode? And what exactly does it say now? I have a list of the wavs or you should be able to find it on here somewhere.

It's in IP Office mode. I checked through the list of wav files on the FAQ page, but could not find a match. The exact phrase is:

"Enter last name and pound sign"

It's spoken in the standard system voice, so I belive it's a canned prompt.

Thanks,

My list doesn't have a match for it either. And I never use IP Office mode so I don't have system to look through. Maybe somebody else can chime in. Sorry.

Hi PHins,

Will depend on your locale, but for Aust it is wav 354 in "Program Files/Avaya/IP Ofice/Voicemail Pro/VM/WAVS/en".
Cheers
