does anyone know if its possible to import the system directory (extensions and groups) into the e129 phones.

By default it is set to pull off the system directory however, it would be good to be able to search for users on the system without using one-x etc.

No possible to load the system directory, only local phonebook or use LDAP.

thanks bas1234, have a *

quick second question (though I don't think possible), is there anyway of modifying one of the soft keys/hard keys to allow a specific function i.e. button pressed dials a specific extension?

I just started deploying these phones and please note the following, when phone is in a call forward or a dnd status, the system status software does not see the true status of the phone, you have to actually look at the phone for the current status. What gives here Avaya?

Rebranded piece of crap :)
But it is cheap.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Which license did it require?

Avaya IP Endpoint or 3rd Party SIP Endpoint?

think it comes down to preference on this or the 1603, definitely more features on this one, built in poe, cant see us selling a 1603 again now.

poe is provided by a poe switch or a power brick, as far as features the 1603 is a better phone and besides when you activate a feature on the 1603 the system status will see this feature activated, the e129 will not so I would choose the 1603 any day over the e129

I meant the poe port, instead of the 1603 adapter

personal preference, but at more than half the price of the 1603 and given the little features the 1603 has, e129 would do a job regardless of system status.

until you get you 1st remote trouble ticket, cust states calls going directly to voicemail, normally system status would provide this info for you, now you will have to deal with a customer who has no clue on how to read the display on an e129 phone so troubleshooting an issue will be a little more time consuming, but good luck with those phones and remember you get what you pay for.
