I just bought a new DVD/CD burner that supports both +/- R and RW for DVD and CD, as well as DVD RAM. I have copied a CD onto my hard drive using this drive, as well I have formatted a DVD-RAM disc and copied information onto it. My problem is that when I insert a blank DVD-RW into the writer, it won't recognize it, the computer just goes into hourglass mode and then about 30 seconds later a message comes up telling me to insert a CD into the drive. The weird thing is that the volume label under my computer comes up as DVD-RAM Drive (G
normally, but when I insert the DVD-RW into the drive, the little DVD-RW logo comes up for the picture (instead of the hard disk picture they have), and the volume label changes to CD Drive, so it like its expecting to see a CD or something and thats why its not reading it right, because I have a DVD in the drive. I've tried looking how to make it read DVDs under properties of the drive but I couldn't find anything. Somebody please help me!!!!!
