We have a 2500 router connected to a training facility a few miles away, and this router is sitting on top of a pile of equipment. I want to re-route the connection to a different 2500 router that is neatly rack-mounted.
I know I have to TFTP the startup-config of the current router to my laptop via the network, but how do I transfer this config to the rack-mounted router without temporarily having duplicate IP addresses?
Is there a way to transfer the config via the console port, so no network connectivity is needed on the rack-mounted router (until I am ready to switch the connection over), and no duplication of IP addresses?
