I need to downgrade the software from 4.0 to 3.0 for MICS. I took out the 4.0, then plugged in the 3.0 but system will just flash. Any clue how to do this?

You can plug in the power and when it starts to boot up unplug the power and do this at least 3 or 4 times. The system will finally give up and boot up on 3.0. Keep in mind that this will default the system.

Yeah, really. Why??? But...

I don't believe there is a "safe" way to downgrade and maintain your programed information.

To cold start the switch, power up and when it begins to flash yank out the data catridge and cold start with the desired software revision or you can pull the MICS apart and short the capacitor on the backplane. It's a lot faster and potentailly more detrimental to the unit. That said, I've done it several times and have never fried a switch, but it could happen.

I got it. I booted the MICS with 4.0 and did a startup. About 10 seconds in applying template, I pulled the plug then install the 3.0.

Reason, someone upgraded the switch without upgrading the voicemail.

I think the best and easiest thing would have been to simply upgrade the voicemail. It is never a good thing to downgrade.
