Has any had any experience with door phones?

This is really puzzling. I have an analog line setup as a 2500 from our s8500 going into the door phone module but it needs to output to a phone. So that when you ring the door buzzer it will ring to a phone. However, I want it to set it up as an abrg-appr on the phone so we can hear the phone ring in seperate locations. How do I output that analog line back into our phone system to make this work? [ponder]

On the analog station form use the hotline feature (page 2). It will dial one of the entries on the Abbreviated Dial list.

In the hotline feature, I added the system list and made the dial code to call an extension but when I push the door phone button, it does not ring through to the extension assigned to the dial code for the hotline? It still rings to the psychical phone attached to the door phone module.

I suggest doing a trace on the door phone station that is assifgned to the button to confirm that it is dialing the correct code.

We set our Viking Door Boxes up on a CO. The CO points to an analog x ported station. You then add the analog bridged appearance on an end user's phone.

Hope this helps.

Why not just use an analog extension off of the switch and save the monthly charge for the CO trunk. By using a switch port you also have greater security.

Not a CO Trunk, a CO Trunk Port. Sorry for that confusion...

I thought about the CO trunk port option, but if you saw how the wiring was setup, it will be a major challenge to figure out or even get access to it. I know, we need to clean it up eventually.

As far as the hotline, it seems to work now, but not working correctly. The analog line stays off-hook all the time, so then I have to busy and release the station but then it stays in off-hook mode again. I think we are getting close?

So how do I keep the station from staying in off-hook mode? help?

Is there a time out on your door box?

This is the reason we use the CO Port....

Also if you can wire the thing onto an analog port, putting it onto a CO port should not make much difference unless you're out of CO ports...

okay, we figured it out.. we created a seperate trunk group and used a co trunk port, then assigned an extension to that trunk group.. it works now.. thanks for everyones input...
